DS 3 CROSSBACK E-TENSE offers a new driving experience with: instant torque, zero pollution and a range of driving modes to suit your journey. Choosing a DS electric car means you won’t be subject to traffic restrictions in towns. A bright blue LED located at the top of the windscreen shows that you are driving with electric power, thereby giving access to certain restricted roads and locations.
Speed has the greatest impact on an electric car’s range. Plan your journey to use roads and motorways to stay at a constant speed in the highest gear possible. Be guided by the indicators on the vehicle: while driving you can easily see whether your vehicle is using a lot of energy, or not and which areas can be adjust to reduce energy consumption.
How you drive and the hilliness of your route play a part in the range of your electric vehicle. Changing the vehicle into ‘Eco’ mode means that it will prioritise economy over other factors, such as speed and subsequently is the best mode to use if you are looking to maximise range. Using the regenerative braking and a smooth driving style can increase your range by up to 20%.
Range can vary by up to 35% between spring and winter. The MyDS app allows you to switch on your DS electric car’s thermal pre-set function when it is plugged in to increase your range and limit the impact of heating or cooling the cockpit on the battery.

There is a range of charging options available for your DS electric car including accelerated, domestic and rapid charging, each with varied charging times and capabilities. Many charging stations are located around the UK which can be operated by registering with the network, downloading the networks app and some now have card payments built in.
Designed specifically for electric vehicles, accelerated charging is the fatest solution to charging your DS electric car. With power levels commonly at 7kW, your vehicle would fully charge in 7.5 hours. Domestic charging uses a standard household 3 pin socket. This method of charging can take 22 hours from a typical domestic household and can be risky if the socket has not been properly checked. Therefore we would always recommend that you have any socket you plan to charge from checked for suitability by a certified electrician. Rapid charging uses direct currents to charge the battery quickly. They charge the first 80% as fast and efficiently as possible and then stop or slow down charging for the final 20%.
