The UK’s top eight family attractions for EV drivers have been revealed by Vauxhall. With many Brits choosing to travel by car to reach their favourite family attractions, Vauxhall has provided peace of mind for EV drivers setting off on a family day out by compiling a list of the top family-friendly attractions within easy reach of EV charge points.
The list of Top Eight Family Attractions for EV Drivers, compiled by Vauxhall, includes a range of theme parks, zoos, a waxwork museum and more. Using research from the Visit Britain website, the official website for UK tourism, Vauxhall defined the shortlist of family attractions by comparing the EV charging facilities available on-site as well as the number of fast and rapid charge points within a one and five-mile radius of the location using data from Zapmap.
As well as the availability of charging facilities nearby, the other criteria used to identify the top eight family attractions for EV drivers includes their accessibility from the UK’s 15 most populated cities within the 325-mile (WLTP) range of the Vauxhall Grandland Electric. The award-winning SUV has been designed with families in mind, not only offering an impressive range from its 73kWh (net) battery, but also space, comfort and innovative technology - all for less than £40,000. It can be charged from 20-80% in as little as 26 minutes from a 160kW rapid charger, the perfect time for a quick top-up during a family road trip.

Topping the list is the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, located on the B3022 just two miles from Windsor town centre and reachable on a single charge (325 miles) from 12 of the UK’s biggest cities. It ranks as the most convenient family attraction for EV drivers, with 34 fast charge points on-site, 19 within a mile, and 45 rapid chargers within five miles.
Designed for kids aged 2–12 but packed with over 55 rides and attractions, LEGOLAND Windsor has something for the whole family – from driving LEGO cars to riding dragons and exploring underwater cities. On-site charging requires a valid priority parking ticket (bookable online or at the resort) and visitors must bring their own cable.
In second place is Chester Zoo in Cheshire, signposted off the M56 and reachable from all 15 of the UK’s most populous cities. It offers 26 fast charge points on-site and 40 rapid chargers within five miles. Home to 37,000 animals across 128 acres, the zoo also features play areas, off-road adventures, and a lazy river boat trip. Parking is free, and EV charging is billed per kWh.
Third is Madame Tussauds London, on Marylebone Road (A40). Within range of 12 major cities, it has 172 fast charge points within a mile and 304 rapid chargers within five miles. Spread across three floors and eight immersive zones, the attraction showcases over 150 lifelike celebrity figures – a great option for families with older kids. Parking isn’t available on-site but nearby car parks are plentiful.

Steve Catlin, Managing Director, Vauxhall, said: “With the summer holidays underway, we know many families will be taking to the road for some fun days out, and we understand that having the peace of mind about where to re-charge their electric vehicle is a crucial part of the journey. Our research provides an easy guide of family friendly attractions across the country for EV drivers to choose from, all within the range of the New Grandland Electric from the majority of the UK’s biggest cities.”
Ramesh Ganeson, Vice President, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: “We are the perfect family destination for a fun filled summer adventure, and are thrilled to have been recognised by Vauxhall as the top family attraction for EV drivers to visit. With our 34 RAW Charging EV bays on site, we are proud of our electric vehicle infrastructure which is available to all our priority parking ticket holders. We are pleased to announce we will be installing additional chargers later this year.”

The winner will also receive the loan of a Grandland Electric for one week so they can arrive in style.
