Peugeot adds ChatGPT integration to the new I-COCKPIT®

14 March 2024

Peugoet trailblazes, becoming one of the first car manufacturers to integrate ChatGPT technology into their vehicles. Initially the Pilot Phase for this technology was limited for 5,000 customers, but PEUGEOT has expanded it to 10,000 customers thanks to the popularity of the technology.

Ever committed to innovation for its customers, Peugoet has introduced the generative AI ChatGPT into its latest generation of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles through the new Peugeot I-Cockpit®. The generative artificial intelligence ChatGPT is an incredible piece of cutting-edge technology developed by OpenAI. This technology has knowledge sourced from an immence amount of data to allow for sophisticated, accurate, and concise responses to its users. As part of the infotainment systems of the innovative PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, customers can activate the "OK PEUGEOT" voice assistant in order to make requests on any subject. ChatGPT’s life-like responses are relayed via the onboard voice assistant.

ChatGPT is able to answer a great variety of simple and intricate questions, and can even engage in conversation. For example, when arriving in a new town or city, a driver could ask ChatGPT to suggest the best locations to visit, describe location's history and interesting facts, and then guide drivers to these landmarks using the car's navigation system. However, ChatGPT can do far more than simply answer questions. For example, drivers can ask ChatGPT to entertain a children by organising a quiz on a wide spread of topics, making sure that they aren’t bored on long journeys.
