The perfect city car, the Topolino expands mobility and freedom to their youngest customers. The new 100% electric Topolino marks another step in the brand’s path towards electrificationThe new Fiat Topolino features a well-known nameplate: a name which paves the way for urban mobility and is now leading the way for sustainable urban mobility.

FIAT has announced the name and the first image of its new sustainable urban mobility solution: the Topolino. The fully-electric Fiat Topolino quadricycle will expand on modern urban electric mobility, and brings the optimism of its namesake to an accessible, all-electric version encapsulating the coolness of the Fiat 500. The new Topolino brings a new notion of la dolce vita to the city streets, designed to be suitable for a wide audience, including younger customers, families, and city lovers. This aligns with FIAT’s mission of providing sustainable urban mobility solutions to as many people as possible.

The renowned and evocative name immediately harkens back the first Fiat 500: the iconic car that revolutionised the concept of a motor vehicle, produced by Fiat from 1936 to 1955, commonly known as "Topolino". The 500 is the main source of inspiration for the Topolino, as FIAT focuses on bringing motability to generation Z, in this electric EV.

The name translates to ‘baby mouse’, which seems fitting for this small two-seater EV. Fiat says the new Topolino “brings a new notion of la dolce vita to the city streets, designed for a wide audience, including younger customers, families and city lovers”.

The styling comes in the form of the small and round 500-esque headlights, faux-chrome bumpers, and more sculpted bodywork, providing it a less rugged look than the Ami. The cars are very related, with the same base exterior shape and near-matching proportions, being 2535mm long, 1530mm high and 1400mm wide.

The Toppolino will be atop a skateboard-style platform, powered by a single permanent-magnet synchronous motor which powers the front wheels alone. This will push the 562kg urban EV to its top speed of 28mph in 10sec. Power is drawn from a tiny 5.5kWh battery that lends the Topolino a range of 47 miles – one mile more than the Ami.
