FIAT has unveiled the new Multiplay concept, exploring a fresh approach to family mobility by combining the space of an MPV, the character of an SUV and the practicality of a pick-up in one adaptable vehicle. The concept made its debut ahead of the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
Measuring 4.45 metres long, Multiplay has been designed around the changing needs of everyday family life. At the heart of the concept is its innovative ‘Metamorfosi’ architecture, featuring a movable rear module that allows the vehicle to transform from a 6+1-seat family vehicle into a four-seat pick-up with an open load bed.
Versatility continues inside. The innovative ‘Petsenger seat’ can serve a number of purposes, including providing a mounting point for a child car seat, a dedicated space for a pet, a small table or additional storage. The front passenger seat can also transform into the‘Sunseat’, creating a lounge-style space to relax when the vehicle is parked.
Practical thinking extends to the exterior too. The rear spoiler can rotate to become an integrated bike rack capable of carrying up to two bicycles when Multiplay is in its pick-up configuration. Large windows and a panoramic roof have also been incorporated to enhance natural light and the feeling of space inside.
The concept takes inspiration from the spirit of previous FIAT Multipla models, which explored how clever design could maximise passenger space within compact exterior dimensions. Multiplay brings that thinking into a new era, with a focus on flexibility, multifunctional features and evolving family needs.
While Multiplay is not a preview of a specific production model, it acts as a laboratory for ideas that could influence future FIAT innovations. At Stellantis &You UK, we’re excited to see how these ideas could help shape the future of practical and versatile family mobility.
