The FIAT 500e has collected the title of 'Best Electric City Car' from Diesel&EcoCar Magazine's EcoCar Electrified Top 50 Awards for the second year in a row. In its victory, it was commended for its range, affordability, design, and manoeuvrability.
The FIAT 500e has received further recognition after being crowned ‘Best Electric City Car’ in Diesel&EcoCar Magazine’s EcoCar Electrified Top 50 Awards – expanding its collection of national and international awards.
Diesel&EcoCar Magazine’s panel of expert journalists tested the 500e against the very best vehicles the EV sector has to offer, focusing on economy and cost-conscious motoring, as well as range and manoeuvrability. After the deliberations, the 500e came out on top as the ideal inner-city electric vehicle.
Ian Robertson, Editor & Publisher, Diesel&EcoCar Magazine, commented: “The 500e holds onto its reign as our favourite all-electric city car. Affordable to buy outright, and with numerous cheap finance offers available, it will undoubtedly be many motorists’ first EV and it’s a cinch to drive.
“Even the smaller battery pack’s 118-mile range should be plenty for those living in the city, while the 199-mile range of the 42kWh version extends its use case for those travelling further afield. Nippy acceleration, a tight turning circle, and its small size make it a superb town car, and its interior is a major step up from the older 500. It’s roomier than it looks inside, and who could ignore those super cute looks?”

The Fiat 500e is the first Fiat designed to be fully-electric from the ground up. The car provides a collection of best-in-class features, such as Level 2 Autonomous Driving technologies, a variety of battery options, and a huge driving range of up to 199 miles (WLTP) – the farthest range of any electric city car on the market today.
To put the 500e even more prominently at the forefront of customers’ minds, the car has a 85kW fast charging to boast about, enabling the battery to reach 80% range in just 30 minutes of charging time, and, more impressively, 30 miles in around five minutes.
On top of that, the courtesy of the fully-electric nature of the car, the 500e is congestion charge and ULEZ-exempt, making it the perfect vehicle for the modern city. The 500e convertible is also the only 4-seater convertible in its segment.
