DS N°7, the new-generation best seller

DS N°7 carries forward and modernises the winning formula of DS 7: a positioning at the heart of the premium compact SUV segment with features worthy of the class above — from comfort and interior space to boot capacity — while maintaining dimensions perfectly suited to everyday use. Its 1.90 m width and height of 1.63 m remain unchanged while its length, increased to 4.66 m, follows the market trend by increasing slightly. This total difference of 7 cm compared to its predecessor essentially corresponds to a 5 cm extension in the wheelbase, which hits 2.79 m, benefiting the car’s architecture and passenger space.

DS N°7, a stately design serving both efficiency and onboard roominess

The balanced proportions of DS N°7 give it an elegant and dynamic silhouette. The waistline, which visually extends the windows towards the rear wing, emphasises the sense of power suggested by the shoulder line beneath the gloss‑black quarter panel. The wheel diameter now reaches 740 mm, further enhancing its visual impact with wheels up to 21 inches.

DS N°7 is the result of a subtle balance between aerodynamic efficiency and interior space optimisation. Inspired by the DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE concept, the elegant curvature of its roof, which is extended by a spoiler on top of the tailgate, allows for a 0.26 Cx while providing comfortable headroom for rear passengers. As in DS 7, and despite the installation of a battery under the floor of the electric versions, the occupants benefit from generous legroom and excellent visibility to the outside thanks to the large glass area. Compared to DS 7, the rear doors are extended to increase the surface area of the side windows by 30% and the optional panoramic roof is enlarged by 40%.

DS N°7 consolidates one of the major strengths of DS 7: a generous boot adapted to all the uses of a versatile SUV. It provides up to 560 litres depending on the powertrain and audio equipment (500 litres in the minimum AWD configuration with subwoofer). Its interior layout, with its conventional geometry, instantly simplifies understanding the available space. As standard, DS N°7 is equipped with a two-position boot floor to obtain a flat surface when the rear bench’s 40/20/40 backrests are folded down. Even with the floor in the low position, the mode 3 cable supplied with the E-TENSE 100% electric versions still has its place under the load area to free up space for luggage. Despite the roof’s streamlined curvature, the engineers were able to maintain the load height and width of DS 7 between the wheel arches by moving the tailgate’s hinges forwards, thereby maintaining ease of use daily.

At the front, DS N°7 incorporates the brand’s new light signature ushered in by DS N°8: the DS LIGHT BLADE with its characteristic V-shape and recognizable from afar, are combined with the illuminated DS LUMINASCREEN grille. At the rear, the vertical DS LIGHT BLADE is also recognisable from a distance, day and night, and contributes to aerodynamic performance by cleanly directing the airflow.

DS N°7 can be personalised with a deep‑black contrasting roof colour or by an extended bi-tone colour that extends over the bonnet. Six shades are available, including a new colour - SILK GREEN alongside PALLADIUM GREY, TOPAZ BLUE, ALABASTER WHITE, CRYSTAL PEARL and PERLA NERA BLACK. The diameter of the wheels is now up to 740 mm, further enhancing the visual impact with wheels up to 21 inches.

DS N°7, record range and efficiency

DS N°7 E-TENSE, 100% electric, has a record range for a compact SUV with up to 460 miles on the WLTP combined cycle for the FWD LONG RANGE version. This range is based on a 97.2 kWh battery made in France and a comprehensive approach to efficiency. The exceptional aerodynamics, embodied by a 0.26 Cx and an SCx of 0.69, allow travel of up to 279 miles on the motorway. With DS N°7 E‑TENSE, the driver stops when they choose to, not anymore when the technology dictates it.

Equipped with the same battery and all-wheel drive, the E-TENSE AWD LONG RANGE version have a range of up to 421 on the WLTP combined cycle. The electric offering is completed by the E-TENSE FWD version equipped with a 73.7 kWh battery providing up to 337 miles of range on the WLTP combined cycle.

Rapid charging is another pillar of the freedom of use on long journeys: DS N°7 E‑TENSE can charge from 20% to 80% in 27 minutes (31 minutes for the 73.7 kWh battery) with thermal preconditioning of the battery. This is activated automatically if a destination is set in the navigation, or manually via the central display. The charging power remains at 160 kW between 20 and 55% charge level, allowing you to recover 118 miles of range in 10 minutes. The PLUG & CHARGE function, which allows a charging cycle to be triggered automatically when the car is plugged into a DC fast charging station, also helps to optimise downtime.

Energy management is boosted by three-stage regenerative braking, which can be adjusted via the paddles behind the steering wheel. It is complemented by the One Pedal function that maximises energy recovery by releasing pressure on the accelerator pedal. In this mode, the brake pedal is only used under hard braking.

DS N°7 E-TENSE is equipped as standard with an 11 kW on-board and can be specified with an optional 22 kW charger.

DS N°7‑energy choice, either 100% electric or self‑charging hybrid.

DS N°7 E-TENSE has three 100% electric powertrains available with as many power levels: 230 hp for the FWD version, 245 hp for the FWD LONG RANGE version and 350 hp for the AWD LONG RANGE version. The latter combines two electric motors with all-wheel drive to ensure optimal traction in all circumstances.

All of these powertrains have a boost function, providing a brief increase in power. The E-TENSE FWD version can temporarily deliver up to 260 hp, while the E-TENSE FWD LONG RANGE version reaches 280 hp. DS N°7 E-TENSE AWD LONG RANGE sees its power increased to 375 hp in these conditions. This allows it to accelerate from zero to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds, a demonstration of controlled dynamism where power is delivered in a progressive and linear manner, always in aid of occupants’ comfort and well-being.

Also available from launch, DS N°7 HYBRID offers 145 hp and has the lowest CO₂ emissions among its direct competitors, between 121 and 127 g/km*. Fuel consumption is 52 mpg. DS N°7 HYBRID combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor, integrated directly into the dual-clutch six-speed automatic gearbox. The self-charging hybrid system recovers the energy generated during deceleration and braking phases to power the battery, without the need for external charging. Versatile and efficient, this engine is a relevant response to all daily uses.

DS N°7, a concentration of technologies designed to deliver peace of mind in everyday use

DS N°7 brings together the brand’s most advanced technology to provide an intuitive, smooth and safe driving experience.

• DS PIXELVISION: DS Automobiles’ strong technological and design signature, DS PIXELVISION combines adaptive headlights, pivoting main beams, cornering lighting and glare-free main beams. With a range of 400 m, the system detects other road users, analyses their trajectory and adapts the light beam to avoid glare while ensuring optimal illumination of the road. Highly reflective objects, such as road signs, are isolated from the beam. The MAIN BEAM BOOST function increases the light intensity in the centre of the main beam from 50mph on straight roads, increasing the range to up to 520 metres. Between 24 and 70 mph, an additional side beam illuminates the side of the road depending on the steering angle, improving visibility in curves. Several modes are automatically activated to adapt the lighting to the driving conditions: city, countryside, motorway, rain and fog.

• DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0: This adds peace of mind to the driver with a level 2 semi-autonomous system, and various other features for a smooth and natural driving experience in complete safety. It controls distance to the vehicle in front and lane positioning. Semi-automatic lane changing is carried out instantly: if all the safety conditions are met, it is automatically activated when the indicator is used between 43 and 86 mph. DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0 also includes PREDICTIVE ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control). It adds to the ACC Stop&Go features the ability to adapt speed according to the road profile and speed limits. The system understands the type of road the car is travelling on, the speed limit, and also knows the radius of the next turn so it can adjust speed. This feature is also active at roundabouts and junctions.

• DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0: The true technological heart of the cockpit, DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0 is an Intuitive and personalisable advanced human-machine. It works like a smartphone and can be controlled via speech recognition or with the large 16-inch central touchscreen. DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0 includes ChatGPT which enables a natural conversation to be had with DS N°7. This ‘all-in-one’ architecture includes the audio system (six speakers or 14 with the ELECTRA® 3D by FOCAL Hi-Fi sound system), four USB-C ports, Bluetooth® connectivity as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0 also provides access to services such as the connected alarm or the ‘Vehicle Health Report’, providing information on the status of the car’s wear and tear parts.

• DS EXTENDED HEAD UP DISPLAY: Perfectly within the driver’s field of vision, DS EXTENDED HEAD UP DISPLAY projects essential, non-intrusive information through the windscreen: speed, navigation and traffic signs. A truly unintrusive co-pilot, it improves the readability of information and driving comfort.
• DS NIGHT VISION: With an infrared camera in the front bumper, DS NIGHT VISION improves vision at night by detecting pedestrians and animals up to 300 m in front of the car. Cyclists, pedestrians and animals are indicated in the digital instrument cluster, first in yellow and then in red, alerting the driver effectively and increasing safety when driving at night. DS Automobiles is the only brand in the segment to offer such a driver‑assistance system.

• DIGITAL REARVIEW: The rearview mirror offers two modes of use: a classic mirror display or a wide-angle camera view. The latter uses the rear-view mirror as a screen, maximising rear visibility regardless of traffic or light conditions.
• In-car EV ROUTING: Included with DS IRIS SYSTEM 2.0, EV ROUTING makes it easier to plan trips and eliminate any source of stress related to charging. Based on real-time static and dynamic vehicle data, such as energy consumption and battery charge status, EV ROUTING provides accurate and continuously updated information. This feature allows you to picture and plan routes by accounting for the necessary charging stops while including charging times. It is possible to select the desired charge level when stopping for charging or upon arrival.
• Journey planning with e-ROUTES: Through the MyDS app, drivers can also use the e-ROUTES feature to plan their journeys remotely and then display the information on DS N°7 E-TENSE’s central screen via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Complementary to EV ROUTING, e-ROUTES is another way of planning your journeys and enjoying a seamless and stress-free electric driving experience.
• Battery and cockpit preconditioning: DS N°7 E-TENSE optimises the charging experience with battery preconditioning, which reduces charging time by bringing the battery to its ideal operating temperature before arriving at a charging point. This function can be activated in three separate ways: via the MyDS app, automatically when a route is planned with EV Routing, or manually from the central display. MyDS also allows the passenger compartment to be preconditioned remotely to an ideal in-car temperature of 21°C.
• V2L function: V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) will be available on DS N°7. With a special adapter plugged into the charging socket, this makes it possible to power external electrical devices directly from the car’s high-voltage battery. The car thus becomes a mobile energy source and delivers 230 V AC to operate or charge various equipment such as a computer, scooter or a drone.

DS N°7, First class comfort

Comfort is at the heart of the DNA of DS N°7. Its STLA Medium technical platform offers generous space at the front and rear and a large and practical benchmark boot.

DS N°7 offers the DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION, a controlled damping system linked to a camera positioned at the top of the windscreen. In a few milliseconds, the road surface is analysed and the information transmitted to a computer that individually adjusts each shock absorber via a motorised solenoid valve. The suspension can therefore anticipate road irregularities to offer a remarkable balance between driving pleasure and comfort, a signature of DS expertise.

Particular attention has been paid to acoustic comfort in the design of DS N°7 to provide the quietness that customers expect from a DS. DS N°7 can be fitted with acoustic laminated glass in the front and rear doors to complement the acoustic laminated windscreen and the many damping materials arranged around the passenger compartment. Ideal conditions to enjoy the ELECTRA® 3D sound system by FOCAL, developed for DS Automobiles by the premium French audio specialist. The positioning of the 14 speakers, including two in the roof, and the 690 W amplifier contribute to high-level 3D sound reproduction that offers to adjust the height of the soundstage for an immersive result of exceptional rendering.

The front seats feature high-density foams and width-adjustable side bolsters, guaranteeing first-class support and postural comfort. Depending on the version, they offer heated, cooled and massaging functions, complemented by the DS NECK WARMER, which diffuses gentle heat to the back of the neck. This close thermal comfort favours heating as near as possible to the body to optimise energy consumption and extend the range in actual use.

Rear passengers can also enjoy heated seats and separate controls for airflow and its intensity. The panoramic glass roof provides up to 50 mm more headroom than the normal roof. Its laminated glass is made of several layers, including an anti-UV finish and a low-E coating dedicated to thermal performance, summer and winter. A special tint, aimed at protecting from light and limiting reflection without impacting transparency, has also been developed, allowing DS N°7 to eliminates the need for a glass darkening function that only minimal impact on thermal performance (difference of 1% in total solar transmission and 2% in light transmission).

DS N°7, DS refinement and expertise

DS N°7 provides a wide choice of interior settings and materials to cover the seats, dashboard, centre console and upper parts of the front and rear doors. DS N°7 passengers, whether seated in the front or back, enjoy the same high level of attention and quality of finish. These large areas are covered in soft materials and enhanced by contrasting stitching or an embossed pattern and can be combined with brushed aluminium or real wood trim, depending on the chosen specification. The DS identifiers – ‘Clous de Paris’ embossed inserts, Pearl Stitching and Nappa leather watchstrap seats – underline a unique approach in the segment. The ambient lighting has also been the subject of particular care to create gentle and different moods depending on the colours chosen.

The 10-inch digital instrument cluster and the 16-inch central touchscreen are elegantly integrated into the dashboard. The technology is thereby visible but in a discreet way, priority being given to bringing French expertise, choice of materials and special craftsmanship to the fore.

The X-shaped steering wheel, the new DS Brand signature, breaks the established rules, while its architecture and ergonomics offer the driver new grip zones that contribute to driving pleasure. Its central part can be covered and highlighted with stitching, a rare refinement even among SUVs in the category above.

DS N°7 offers five interior moods:

• DS Basalt Black canvas setting: with this mood, the differences between gloss and matt blacks enhance the presence of a deep black, present on ‘Graphic Black’ statement surfaces. The door and dashboard trims are inspired by straw marquetry, like on the DS AERO SPORT LOUNGE concept.
• DS Pearl Grey and Eternal Blue canvas setting: the duo tone harmony associates the softness of the Pearl grey  to the deepness of the Eternal Blue fabric. It contributes to the calm and bright mood. DS canvas integrates an iridescent mother-of-pearl that gives it an elegant and refined pearl effect. In the cockpit, this light colour harmoniously contrasts with the Eternal Blue.
• Eternal Blue Alcantara setting: The Eternal Blue colour was specially developed for DS N°8 to enhance Alcantara®, which is usually offered in black. This deep blue gives the material a unique look and refinement. It is combined with brushed aluminium trim in a slightly warm colour.
• Céleste Grey Nappa leather: DS N°7’s interior is enhanced by the Nappa leather of its watch strap seats, one of the hallmarks of DS Automobiles. This leather is also found on the dashboard and the front and rear doors. Celestial Grey brings clarity to the interior and contrasts with the real wood trim.
• Black Byzantine Nappa leather setting: the LA PREMIÈRE Collection features an exclusive Nappa leather in a deep aubergine shade, adorning the bracelet‑pattern seats as well as the front and rear door panels. Paired with the engine‑turned aluminium dashboard trim, Point Perle stitching and a light‑gold accent strip, the ensemble creates an interior signature subtly inspired by Art Deco.

DS N°7, European manufacture

The 97.2 kWh Long Range battery is produced in the north of France, in Billy Berclau's ACC Gigafactory, while the electric motors are manufactured in the east of France. Final assembly is completed at the Melfi plant in Italy.

The Alcantara® in the ÉTOILE versions contains 68% recycled content. Full-grain Nappa leather is olive leaf tanned using a traditional non-toxic and completely biodegradable method. Materials recovered at the end of their life are also present in textiles (60%), carpet (75%) and floor mats (96%). Removing chrome in favour of paint, aluminium and brushed stainless steel is also part of this approach.
