At the Düsseldorf Caravan Show, Citroën unveiled the new 'Holidays' camper van, a nod to the famous Type H, taking adventure travel to new heights. A derivation of the Citroën SpaceTourer, the Tupe Holidays offers all the features and comfort of the best camper vans, and heralds Citroën's move to improve its presence in the converted camper van market.
Citroën showcased its new Type Holidays camper van at the Düsseldorf Caravan Show, which took place from Friday 25 August to Sunday 3 September 2023. The vehicle combines the appearance of the iconic Citroën Type H van with the features of a modern Citroën SpaceTourer, ending up with an interior layout that will soon be available as part of the Citroën range. Inspired by the ideals of freedom and sharing, Citroën has strengthened its commitment to this fast-growing market by expanding on the qualities of the SpaceTourer to create the exciting Type Holidays camper.
Expertise in preparation for the future
Ever since it began, Citroën has been a brand that celebrates freedom and movement, using its immense expertise to develop practical, ingenious, and affordable models that are synonymous with the ideals of leisure, escape, and adventure.
Citroën's established pedigree in the world of leisure allows it to be a key player in the market: the brand is the second largest supplier of motorhome-type vehicles in Europe.
The Citroën brand has decided to highlight its rich heritage by presenting this Type-H inspired SpaceTourer vehicle, based on the work of the Italian coachbuilder Caselani. This trusted partner of Citroën has already created a series of ‘neo-retro’ body styles for assorted Citroën models.
‘Van life’ is both a novel and an increasingly popular way of travelling, and with a vehicle like the Type Holidays camper, adventurers truly stand out from the crowd. Its unique design, like its grey colour, is a nod to Citroën's Type H, the legendary ‘Tube’.

The one-off Type Holidays camper heralds a more powerful commitment from the brand through a comprehensive offering that will be available as part of the Citroën range.

‘Van Life’ owes much of its success to the progress that has been made in terms of interior layout and comfort. With this vehicle, camping has now become chic – in line with the ‘glamping’ trend. The Citroën Type Holidays camper offers every advantage of the Citroën SpaceTourer: spaciousness, comfort, quiet when running, two sliding side doors for easy accessibility and ventilation, an independently opening tailgate window, and even more. Everything that up to four people might need to be able to get away from it all.
Citroën called on one of the world's leading specialists to kit out the camper van: Bravia Mobil. This Slovenian company provided the Citroën Type Holidays camper all the equipment needed for an ideal travel experience:
- A pop-up roof, which allows you to stand fully upright in the living space inside the Citroën Type Holiday, and which houses a large bed to accommodate up to two people when in in night-time mode.
- A two-row bench seat, which can unfold to become a comfortable two-person bed. This bench seat is also entirely removable to free up storage space.
- Two front seats that can revolve around towards the living area of the vehicle.
- A complete kitchenette (cooking area, sink, fridge).
- A folding table for dining or working, and several cupboards for storage.
- A Webasto heating system to ensure optimum temperature on-board.
The Citroën Holidays camper van was on display from Friday 25 August to Sunday 3 September at the Düsseldorf Caravan Show, and promises a distinctive, liberating travelling experience.
