Citroën Berlingo Van is the UK’s best-selling small van in 2026 so far, according to the latest new vehicle registration figures published today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT). The figures also show that Citroën grew its overall sales by 42% over the same point last year.
The success of Berlingo Van is partly down to its success with SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises). Available from £22,645 (excl. VAT) Berlingo Van benefits from the Citroen Advanced Comfort Programme resulting in greater onboard comfort for occupants. It is also available with a fully electric variant, e-Berlingo Van is built at the UK’s only volume EV manufacturing facility in Ellesmere Port. It is available from £26,455 (excl. VAT) with the UK Government Plug in Vehicle Grant, worth up to £2,500.
Citroën is also seeing the benefit of its new car range, including C3, C3 Aircross and C5 Aircross – all of which are available with a variety of efficient petrol, hybrid or fully-electric powertrains. Sales for the brand increased by 42% year on year resulting in an increase in market share to 1.75% an increase of 83% on the same time last year.
Greg Taylor, Managing Director, Citroën UK said “These results are really encouraging, we know that Berlingo Van is a staple of British streets and I’m delighted to see that it remains so. We’re also reaping the rewards of our renewed product line up which is really starting to resonate with customers. Our approach has always been to make comfortable and accessible cars that suit the needs of British consumers. I am confident that approach is the right one and these results confirm that.”
